About Us

Established in 1957 as the Shenango Valley Teachers Federal Credit Union by a group of Sharpsville Area School District teachers, Mercer County Community FCU now serves all of Mercer County and the surrounding counties of Lawrence, Venango, and Crawford in PA, plus Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana in Ohio. Our Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial organization that provides desired financial services to our members by offering the best member service and competitive rates while maintaining growth and financial stability. We are federally chartered and regulated by the National Credit Union Administration. Your deposits are fully insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA.

To qualify to become a member, you or an immediate family member* must live, work, worship, or attend school in one of the following counties: Mercer, Lawrence, Venango, or Crawford in PA, or Mahoning, Trumbull, or Columbiana in Ohio. To join, simply open a share (savings) account and maintain a balance of $5.00. The $5.00 is your share in the ownership of the Credit Union. As long as you maintain that membership requirement, you are a member and an owner of the Credit Union and eligible for all of our services.

*Immediate family is defined as a spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, or grandchild. This includes stepparents, stepchildren, stepsiblings, and adoptive relationships. A household is defined as persons living in the same residence, maintaining a single economic unit.
