Mercer County Community FCU Celebrates CU Kind Month

During the month of October, Mercer County Community Federal Credit Union (MCCFCU) will join credit unions across Pennsylvania and New Jersey in celebrating CrossState Credit Union Association’s CU Kind initiative, created to spread kindness and demonstrate the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.”

The credit union will hold month-long events to support charitable organizations in the community. A food drive will benefit the Mercer County Food Bank, while proceeds from paper balloon and T-shirt donations will benefit Akron Children’s Hospital through Children’s Miracle Network.

Other community events include the credit union’s annual Shred Day on October 17, and International Credit Union Day on October 15, which will be celebrated by more than 400 million credit union members around the world.

“CU Kind Month is a wonderful reminder of what the credit union movement is all about, people helping people,” said Sandi Carangi, CEO of MCCFCU. “We are proud to support our community and provide our members with opportunities to join us in giving back.”

Now in its fourth year of celebrating, MCCFCU’s participation in CU Kind activities is part of its ongoing community outreach and commitment to supporting the communities it serves.
