The Credit Union is aware of a possible software virus that could affect the computers of customers using home banking. Mercer County Communities servers are not the source of this virus.
The virus is a difficult to track and detect virus that targets financial institutions in order to try and steal their customers’ information. It mimics secure sites and directs home banking users to enter their personal information.
Your computer may be affected if you see a screen like the one below. At the top of the window is a paragraph that typically reads “We do not recognize the computer you are using. To continue with Online Banking, please provide the information requested below.” Here is what this virus may look like on your screen:
Remember, the Credit Union will never ask for account information to verify your identity, such as:
•Credit Card Number •Debit Card Number or security code •Expiration Dates •Card PIN •Social Security Number •Date of Birth
What you should do if you see this (or similar) page:
If you see a page requesting such information, do not proceed, do not enter information, do not click any links or buttons. If you see such a page then you potentially have a virus on your computer and it is recommended that you consult a computer specialist and/or use anti-virus software to remove the virus before attempting to access home banking.

THE MESSAGE PROMPTS THE MEMBER EITHER TO CALL A PHONE NUMBER OR GO TO A WEBSITE. BOTH OPTIONS REQUEST PERSONAL ACCOUNT INFORMATION (ACCOUNT NUMBER, PIN NUMBER, SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER). PLEASE CALL EITHER OFFICE OF THE CREDIT UNION IF YOU DOUBT THE VALIDITY OF THE REQUEST.

It's fast and easy....they are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, anytime! You will receive an email telling you that your statement is ready to be picked up.
It's safe and secure when you use your PIN (personal identification number) to access your statement. If you elect to receive an eStatement, you will no longer receive your statement in the mail.
Applications for eStatements are available at both Credit Union offices.

Junior Ships Ahoy Club!
Hey Kids, have you joined our new Junior Ship Ahoy Kid's Club? It is open to kids age 12 and under, and as a member of our Kid's Club you are going to have loads of fun, and you will be a Ship Shape Saver too!
When you join our club you will receive an official membership kit full of fun stuff, including a Deposit Punch Card. Every time you come in and make a deposit of $10.00 or more, you will recieve a punch. Extra punches may be earned by achieving good grades on your report card. Each semester, if you have straight A's, you will receive a free punch on your card. Also at the end of the year, if you have had perfect attendance at school, you will receive a free punch. Watch our newsletter for the Kid's Corner to find out how you can earn free punches for special events. Once you have completed the punches on your card, you've earned a trip to our Prize Chest to unlock it and pick a treasure from the loot inside!
Your birthday is very special! As a member of our Kid's Club you will receive a Birthday card each year with a special suprise in it just for you!
