Established in 1957 as Shenango Valley Teachers FCU by a group of Sharpsville Area school teachers, the new Mercer County Community FCU is not just for teachers - today, we serve all of Mercer County. The Credit Union is a membered owned, not for profit organization. The Credit Union is striving to provide desired financial services to its members to the best of its ability by offering competitive rates on all services while maintaining growth and financial stability. It is federally chartered and regulated by the National Credit Union Administration. Your deposits are fully insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA.

To Join all you have to do is open a share(savings) account and maintain a balance of $5.00. The $5.00 is your share in the Ownership of the Credit Union. USA Patriot Act of 2001

As required by the USA Patriot Act of 2001, which requires Mercer County Community Federal Credit Union to help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laudering activities, the credit union must obtain basic identifying information from you and verify that information when you open a new account.

This means that the credit union staff will ask for some basic information such as your name, address, date of birth and other information to help us identify you. Credit Union staff may also ask to see documents identifying you too, such as a driver's license, passport or some other government-issued document. Mercer County Community FCU appreciates your patience and understanding as we all do our part in complying with the new account identification procedures required by the federal USA Patriot Act of 2001.
